"The tent schools are being installed in the quake-hit areas, besides, at the sites close to tent villages in various parts of the region by the AJK government to provide opportunities of studies to the survived students in the earthquake-stricken areas", the sources told APP here on Monday.
The sources said AJK government had started taking necessary steps to revive educational institutions affected by October 8 devastating quake in the badly affected districts of Muzaffarabad, Neelam valley, Bagh and Rawalakot.
The AJK government said that at least the earthquake in AJK affected 12 to 15 thousand students from primary to university level.
The worst affected educational institutions are being provided with tents to enable them resume academic activities in calamity hit areas. With the ongoing liberal financial relief and assistance from the federal government, the AJK government has started taking effective measures to start studies in all educational institutions coupled with the steps to further improve academic activities - under the spirit to save the studies period of students.
The sources revealed the number of primary school level students in AJK touched 1.75 lakh whereas the number of students at middle school level was 58,000.
The AJK government has already started taking preliminary steps for reconstruction of damaged public properties, with the co-operation and support of federal government, in the quake-stricken areas, to ensure early revival of professional activities by all state-run functionaries for extending services to the masses, the sources concluded.
